Scooby Tuning Offers Two Types of Tuning:
-
Open Source Road Tuning
-
Remote eTuning
Open Source Road Tuning:
If you live, or are in the Salt Lake City area, we can offer a personal open source road tune. The advantages of road tuning are numerous. First, driving and making adjustments on the road allows us to tune in the “real world”. Dyno’s are nice, but they cost a lot to use and, unless your local roads are as smooth and level as rollers, you won’t get the same, finely tuned results a road tune offers. If there are changes to be made, while road tuning, it’s easy to adjust your car’s map and fix any problems if needed. We use three programs for the tuning process:
RomRaider: For editing maps and data logging in real time
ECUflash: Enables the changes made to your map, via RomRaider, to replace your old ecu settings
Learning View: Gives a snapshot of how your car’s health, over a period of time.
We also have the ability to use a Wide Band o2 sensor, for those who have upgraded injectors and beyond. The Wide Band reader is portable and uses power from your power outlet, so no need to hardwire anything to get accurate Air to fuel ratios
Cost:
- Stage 1: (stock car, no current mods.) $275
- Stage 2: (at least a modifed down pipe) $275 Upgraded turbos, injectors and aftermarket intakes email for price.
- Stage 2+: Contact Us with the details of your car and we will give you a price.
Remote eTuning:
Remote etuning is a way to have your car tuned, where ever you live. This requires you to have a laptop (pc) and Tactrix cable. If you have a 2005-2006 Legacy GT, you can buy the less expensive Vag-Com cable off of ebay. You’ll need to download all three programs mentioned above, which are legal and free, and install them on your laptop. In the tutorial section, there is a video explaining how to set everything up, so you can data log your car. We then analyze the data, make changes to your map and send you the revision, which you will install in your car, using ECUflash. We will make up to 8 revisions on your map, to make sure your tune is dialed in.
Cost:
- Stage 1: (stock car, no current mods.) $175 Upgraded turbos, injectors and aftermarket intakes email for price.
- Stage 2: (at least a modifed down pipe) $175 Upgraded turbos, injectors and aftermarket intakes email for price.
- Stage 2+: Contact Us with the details of your car and we will give you a price.
*Please note all payments are due up front before any work is performed.
We accept PayPal and if we’re doing a “Open source road tuning” we will accept cash as well.
